Dharma School

The main objective of the Berkeley Buddhist Temple Dharma School’s goal is to help the students have a better understanding of Jodo Shinshu Buddhist teachings. It also aims to provide an appreciation and gratitude of the interdependency of all living things through the awareness of Amida Buddha’s infinite wisdom and compassion.

The Dharma School teachers to provide age-appropriate, safe and meaningful activities that may incorporate art, videos, stories, games, presentations, field trips and service projects.

Dharma School classes:
- Pre-Kindergarten to second grade
- Second- and third-grade through fifth-grade
- Sixth-grade through eighth-grade
- Ninth-grade through 12-grade

Classes meet after the Dharma Family Service on Sundays and last approximately from 10:30 to 11:00 a.m. The classrooms are located in rooms adjacent to or next to the main temple.
